Bailout Bonanza

First off I am in a funky mood today, I got into an argument with someone I care for very deeply last night, and when I get like this I write. I was going to post on Facebook, but can't stand the feedback so I am letting the blog have it. Sometimes I can be very opinionated, even though I try hard to be open and objectionable to most things.

Here is an article I was reading this morning on a subject that got me going...Obama or Romney, whoever you vote for just ask for the truth...I'm sure most of us have made up our minds by now, I don't personally know too many of these so called swing voters, everyone seems so politically polarized.

http://www.thenation.com/article/170644/mitt-romneys-bailout-bonanza#

Now I know this is from a liberal source, and correct me if I am wrong, but according to this article in 2009 25,000 American auto jobs were sent to China. Investors including Mr. Romney (and probably Mr. Obama's pension fund according to the debate rhetoric) bought up all the Delphi (auto parts maker for GM) junk debt they could get their hands on, expecting that the government would not let the auto industry fail, and that the value would eventually rise. These investors appear to have made a small fortune from their investment, while everyone else suffered footing the bill. Now as the article states "Delphi has 5,000 American workers compared to 100,000 Asian workers" paid for by our tax dollars?

From the Nation report: "Mitt Romney may indeed have wanted to let Detroit die. But if the auto industry was going to be bailed out after all, the Romney's apparently couldn’t resist getting in on a piece of the action."

I don't blame anyone for making money in smart, legitimate investments, Mr. Romney is certainly a very wealthy man and an apparently wise investor. Is this the sort of stuff that he knowingly was involved in planning? If he says yes, take it for what you feel its worth and make a decision, if he denies it and its found to be true then there is his integrity and honesty to question, and if he claims ignorance what does that say for us wanting him as a dumb luck President? In the mean time we are all feeding on a bunch of crap about blind trusts and getting tough on China? How could anyone be blind to $15 million in profits and thousands of jobs affected by it, unless you have so much money you wipe your ass with it?

The truth is does it really seem like anyone is tough on China or wants to be, including the American people or the administration? I know lots of people who love cheap stuff from China, as well as India, Vietnam, and Pakistan (just go to any store or look in a catalog that comes in the mail). I am not advocating it, but for some of us its all you can afford or find at a reasonable price. I haven't seen too much stuff that says "Made in Russia" though, that would probably piss people off. Oh, and Mexico gives us cool ceramic pots, cheap Fender guitars, and marijuana, I wonder if Mr. Romney has any Mexican investments, hmmm... The point is until everyone just says fuck it and stops buying the stuff, which is not going to happen, it ain't gonna stop.

I'm not looking for feedback, although please pipe in if you want, but which is the worst evil, a potential President who sold out American jobs and families for profit, or a President who gave our money to these guys and let the jobs go to China? Who is right or wrong, Obama for giving the bailout and letting this happen, or Romney for taking advantage of it?

Not to take it lightly, however I feel like I'm watching the wily coyote chase the roadrunner..is he going to catch him or fall off the cliff first...?

In the mean time I'm gonna go have a White House homebrew and see if I can find some binders full of women..(no offense intended ladies). This shits a trip...All I really know is that I was not working four years ago and I am working today..will it last, who will get elected? who the hell knows...I just want my own bailout bonanza..

Peace

Soulless

feet are moving going nowhere

sun rises rooster doesn't crow

suitcase is packed silhouette is gray

pictures of a family in an empty house

whitewashed walls with no color

blinds are open curtains are closed

as I lay here on the bathroom floor

shoes on the floor people walk soulless

full moon shining no light in the room

fan blows quietly stale humid air

guitar playing down a hall

pushing to pick myself up one more time

New Season

It was opening day in Nats Town
The grass was cut and the field was lined
All the fans were dressed in white and red
Popcorn, hot dogs, and cold beer
Was the fare of the day
The field looked like a sea of green
When I walked out from the ramp
I could hear music playing and people cheering
The home town team had taken the field
Like little white ants in their uniforms
From my upper deck bleacher seats
As they took infield and batting practice
The umpires were meeting with the managers
Going over the ground rules
Flags were flying as the sun cast shadows
On the scoreboard the score zero to zero
No runs, no hits, no errors
As the pitcher warmed up in the bullpen
I settled myself in for a long afternoon
My seats were in the front row
Up against the rail
It would take a mighty blow
To hit a ball this far
The announcer said
Please rise and remove your hats
As we sing the National Anthem
A voice came over the loudspeaker
Singing my favorite springtime song

The umpire cried out "Play Ball"
The coaches took their bases
The players took their stance
As the batter took some practice swings
The pitcher took the mound
To throw the first pitch of the year
At last there is renewed hope
For these boys of summer
Spring is finally here.

State of My Onions

I would like to take this time today to state the obvious. I am not certain what that is but when I figure it out I will certainly let you know. There seems to be a wind in the air that something is about to happen. I hear strange noises coming from outside and there is bluegrass music playing on the radio. It must be that I am just feeling a little insecure and need to make up something to keep my mind occupied. No little voices for me, just full blown anarchists in my head.

I have been reading lately about the goings on in the middle east. there is a very strange wind blowing in that direction. It seems that some people think that they can do whatever they please. My, this is a strange concept that goes against all rational thinking, or would that be irrational thinking?

It appears that we may be on the brink of another gunfight at the OK corral, with six guns blazing and lead slinging in every direction. Hopefully Mr. Earp will be able to calm those boys down and we can all go to the saloon and have a sarsaparilla. Cooler heads may prevail, but unfortunately they are few and far apart these days.

It seems like we have reverted back to our Romanistic ways always looking for something or someone to sacrifice for greed's sake while we sit in our luxury boxes eating roast lamb. There is a big hoopla being planned to make lots of money off some of you fat cats down south and there is a real big fat cat trying to hide his riches so we will think that he is one of us. I'll bet $10 you can figure that one out (is that too many zeros?)

I hate it when i get like this so sarcastic, not mean or hateful but full of you know what and vinegar. I guess I've been around this town too long and may need to travel on as the song goes, or just keep going round and round inside the beltway. If only those walls could talk oh boy or maybe they were listening all along since that's legal now too, paranoia anyone?

The train is leaving the station and will take a strong man to get on it. no musclebound concubine spouting strong words, but a meek shall inherit the earth type strongman. A soft spoken confident type who doesn't like the spotlight just do what needs to be done and go home, grateful for all things not preoccupied with prestige and power. How come Clark Kent is never around when superman is here?

I thank my lucky stars that I wasn't sitting on a boat in the pacific when it started raining space junk. Is this getting to be a problem? I also read where a comet flew into the sun, maybe that's where we should send all of our trash instead of worrying about getting our own sorry asses off of here to another planet lets just start by getting rid of some of the crap laying around. have you watched that show hoarders I bet we could shoot a whole house full of stuff to the sun from one episode...

Don't get me started about solar energy either cause that one really gets me. people were talking about this forty years ago while they were waiting in an even/odd days line for a gallon of gas. How long did it take for us to get to the moon after the wright brothers? How much effort would it have taken to get everybody off the fossil fuel addiction and nuclear nightmare if we wanted too? The only solar power we've got going is working on our tans down at the polluted tar ball glow in the dark beach.

If I really cared I guess I would get off the couch (but American Idol's on) and text someone in congress. If I only knew who you were or if I had a cell phone. they turned my phone off cause I couldn't pay the bill, feed myself, and pay my third mortgage on unemployment at the same time. The old house isn't worth as much as I have to pay for it now anyway. I think I will just walk away from it and move south of the border, with everyone coming here there should be plenty of room to stretch out

Well that about wraps it up for now, who figured the niners would beat the saints, anything's possible now that we know Tebow doesn't have the hot line, just another one of us searching for an answer... nice story though considering all the other stuff going on in the world. Nothing wrong with having a little faith...Here's hoping for a Harbaugh superbowl...

Peace
