Bailout Bonanza

First off I am in a funky mood today, I got into an argument with someone I care for very deeply last night, and when I get like this I write. I was going to post on Facebook, but can't stand the feedback so I am letting the blog have it. Sometimes I can be very opinionated, even though I try hard to be open and objectionable to most things.

Here is an article I was reading this morning on a subject that got me going...Obama or Romney, whoever you vote for just ask for the truth...I'm sure most of us have made up our minds by now, I don't personally know too many of these so called swing voters, everyone seems so politically polarized.

http://www.thenation.com/article/170644/mitt-romneys-bailout-bonanza#

Now I know this is from a liberal source, and correct me if I am wrong, but according to this article in 2009 25,000 American auto jobs were sent to China. Investors including Mr. Romney (and probably Mr. Obama's pension fund according to the debate rhetoric) bought up all the Delphi (auto parts maker for GM) junk debt they could get their hands on, expecting that the government would not let the auto industry fail, and that the value would eventually rise. These investors appear to have made a small fortune from their investment, while everyone else suffered footing the bill. Now as the article states "Delphi has 5,000 American workers compared to 100,000 Asian workers" paid for by our tax dollars?

From the Nation report: "Mitt Romney may indeed have wanted to let Detroit die. But if the auto industry was going to be bailed out after all, the Romney's apparently couldn’t resist getting in on a piece of the action."

I don't blame anyone for making money in smart, legitimate investments, Mr. Romney is certainly a very wealthy man and an apparently wise investor. Is this the sort of stuff that he knowingly was involved in planning? If he says yes, take it for what you feel its worth and make a decision, if he denies it and its found to be true then there is his integrity and honesty to question, and if he claims ignorance what does that say for us wanting him as a dumb luck President? In the mean time we are all feeding on a bunch of crap about blind trusts and getting tough on China? How could anyone be blind to $15 million in profits and thousands of jobs affected by it, unless you have so much money you wipe your ass with it?

The truth is does it really seem like anyone is tough on China or wants to be, including the American people or the administration? I know lots of people who love cheap stuff from China, as well as India, Vietnam, and Pakistan (just go to any store or look in a catalog that comes in the mail). I am not advocating it, but for some of us its all you can afford or find at a reasonable price. I haven't seen too much stuff that says "Made in Russia" though, that would probably piss people off. Oh, and Mexico gives us cool ceramic pots, cheap Fender guitars, and marijuana, I wonder if Mr. Romney has any Mexican investments, hmmm... The point is until everyone just says fuck it and stops buying the stuff, which is not going to happen, it ain't gonna stop.

I'm not looking for feedback, although please pipe in if you want, but which is the worst evil, a potential President who sold out American jobs and families for profit, or a President who gave our money to these guys and let the jobs go to China? Who is right or wrong, Obama for giving the bailout and letting this happen, or Romney for taking advantage of it?

Not to take it lightly, however I feel like I'm watching the wily coyote chase the roadrunner..is he going to catch him or fall off the cliff first...?

In the mean time I'm gonna go have a White House homebrew and see if I can find some binders full of women..(no offense intended ladies). This shits a trip...All I really know is that I was not working four years ago and I am working today..will it last, who will get elected? who the hell knows...I just want my own bailout bonanza..

Peace

Robert
