I dug a hole today
and planted a tree
I have no clue why
except that something told me to do it

Is this the same something
that tells people to do other crazy things

Does everyone have something inside
telling them what to do
Like go for a walk or
smoke a cigarette

I hope that one day
my something doesnt tell me
to jump off a bridge
or shoot someone

What makes someone's something
want to hurt themselves
or someone else

Does my something want me
to get a cup of coffee or
take a shit
or is that something else

There is a huge difference between
something and something else..

Something tells me to do
indiscriminate things
Something else tells me
I better do something or else..

Something told me to sit
and write this
Something else is telling me to
get the fuck up and go to work

Something brings me pleasure
Something else fulfills my needs

Something is just fucking with me
or is that something else..

Something keeps bothering me when
I should be doing something else..

Something tells me to say screw off
Something else tells me to say
Have a nice day..

I like hanging with something
but something keeps telling me
to listen to something else..

How the hell did I get started
on this
I started writing a poem about
planting a tree

Must be something in the air
or maybe something else..
