Forever Together

We  are not great you say

tell it to the sons and daughters

who sacrificed and gave their life

for the freedoms that we know today

With humbled heart on bended knee

I can hear their valiant cries for life and liberty

Men and women black and white

all religions race and creed

Who fought together hand in hand

for the common thread of decency

Hand over heart as we salute and pray

those who died not in vain but with dignity

forever together
